Pentecost

It was on Pentecost that the Spirit of God overcame the hindrance of language – begun at Babel for the good of humankind.  The spirit of God enabled men to speak in other languages of what the Christ of God had done.

It was on this day that Jesus’ promise was fulfilled to send the Holy Spirit as a helper to remember the words He had spoken, even enabling them to write them down for the benefit of every human being. In our Sermon text we take a look at the qualifications and disqualifications of the pastoral ministry and note that they are qualifications God expects to see in all of His people, not just the man with the black robe.
