…so said the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate. Jesus had revealed that He came to reveal the truth about how one is saved from sin and death eternal. Many today reject the idea that there is wrong and right, true and false. Some say that each person can decide for themselves what is true for them and what is false. Our Scripture Lessons this morning dismiss the idea of subjective truth. The Prophet Jeremiah was sent by God to declare that God’s Word is the standard of truth and those who contradict or dismiss that Word face judgment. The Letter to the Hebrews reminds us that the Christian Life is a long race, not a sprint. Jesus accomplished what none of us could, so that by faith we might be saved.
