God’s Judgment is coming upon humankind. As we draw to the end of the church year, we will find that our Scripture readings will warn us about it and we should listen. Amos warned that Judgment was coming, but some thought that they were exempt because their nation was strong. The Letter to the Hebrews urges us – as we live in the Last Days — to love one another…while at the same time fleeing from sexual sin. Our Gospel Lesson and sermon text reminds us that only those who have heard God’s Word and believed God’s Promises in His Son will be delivered form the Judgment to come.
