This coming week we will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our Independence. So don’t be surprised if you hear words like Service, Pride and Labor. We find those ideas in our Scripture lessons this Sunday…but not like you might think. God called Elisha to serve and prepared him for that service. Pride for the Christian is not in self, but in Christ. Labor for Christ requires focus and commitment. We resume our study of the Letter to the Romans and learn why God has established human government.
